Product Features

Taittinger selects only the very best vintages to be decorated by an artist for the Taittinger Collection, which contains 13 editions to date. Taittinger chose Brazillian photographer Sebastião Salgado to embellish its Brut Millésimé 2008. This bottle contains a blend of first presses comprising Grands Crus and Premiers Crus. Of this, 50% Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs region and 50% Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims and from the mouth of the Marne Valley make up the blend. Born in Brazil in 1944, Sebastião Salgado has been a professional photographer since the 1970s, concentrating on social documentary and photojournalism. He is also a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador. Invited by Taittinger to design the thirteenth bottle and box in their prestigious “Collection”, Salgado’s creation was released in 2016. Salgado’s stunning image for the Taittinger Collection, which was taken from the compendium “Genesis”, shows a leopard in the Barab River Valley, Damaraland, Namibia. It depicts something beautiful and fundamental, an animal drinking from a river: life at its most simple and peaceful and a source of happiness.
